The Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Zulqarnain Haider has made it clear that he is eager to take part in the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup in India and contribute significantly to his team’s triumph. Haider stated in an interview that he wanted to play in a World Cup and represent his nation to end his cricket career on a triumphant note.

“My ultimate dream is to play in at least one World Cup,” Haider declared. “With Allah’s blessings, I’ll work assiduously to achieve that goal and contribute to my team’s victory in the competition. I’ll bid cricket farewell after that.”

Haider acknowledged that opportunities can arise for anyone when asked about the competition with Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s preferred wicketkeeper-batsman who has been playing exceptionally well and is currently holding the second position in T20Is. He emphasized that performance is what determines which wicketkeepers are chosen for the national team. Rizwan was previously benched from the team for poor World Cup play, while other wicketkeepers were given opportunities based on their strong showings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), according to Haider. He acknowledged the pressure of playing in international cricket, but he also said that the best domestic wicketkeeper should be given the opportunity to represent the nation.

Haider also gave an update on his physical condition. He had surgery for a serious abdominal infection, which had effects on his health as well as his finances.

Zulqarnain Haider previously represented Pakistan in eight international contests from 2007 to 2010. His brief cricketing career came to an abrupt end when he abruptly left the national team during the Dubai tour, stirring up controversy.
