A man fighting on the front lines for Ukraine who has the appearance of a “badass movie villain” and assisted in the cleanup following the catastrophe at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
One of the people who rushed to assist in the cleanup after the explosion in one of the nuclear reactors at the site in April 1986 was Yuriy Korolovych, who looks to be in his late 50s to early 60s.
Many people rushed to comment on the stunning man’s unusual hairstyle and Cosack-style moustache after seeing a picture of him posted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on their official Twitter account.
Defense of Ukraine tweeted: “Yuriy Korolovych, head of the Design Department of the Chornobyl NPP.
“Yuriy was among those who came to liquidate the consequences of the Chornobyl Disaster. He had been working at the Chornobyl NPP since 1987.
“In 2022 he joined #UAarmy to protect his country from a new disaster.”
The tweet subsequently went viral, with over one million views and over 18k likes, and people had plenty to say about Korolovych.
“He looks like he will be the final boss for quite a few Russians,” one commentator said on Twitter.
Another added: “Pretty sure if you’d have sent this pic to Putin last Feb he might have said ‘actually, let’s not.’ All my respect.”
A third said: “You can see he is a real badass.”
“He looks like he came straight out of Call Of Duty poster,” another said, as several others added that he looks like a movie villain.
It comes after Dmytro Kuleba, the foreign minister of Ukraine, indicated that probable peace talks with Russian aggressors are slated for February and that Ukrainian military will “fight” on in a “uphill battle.”
By the end of that month, a prospective peace conference might be organised under the direction of the UN and General António Guterres, which would fall on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
When discussing a peace accord and Guterres’ participation, Kuleba said: “They can only be asked to this stage in this way.
“He [Guterres] has proven himself to be an efficient mediator and an efficient negotiator, and most importantly, as a man of principle and integrity. So we would welcome his active participation.”
