A young father who was riding in the backseat of a car that hit a wall was fatally injured in the head.
In the wee hours of Sunday, October 9, Owen Tagg was driving a red Volkswagen Polo when it was involved in an accident in Cornwall Road, Deal.
At County Hall in Maidstone, an inquest into his passing was launched on Friday.
The 21-year-old was reportedly in one of the back seats when the automobile struck a railroad overpass around 2.30 am on its approach to Hamilton Road.
The father of one from the Aylesham region died at the scene after suffering a severe head injury.
A woman required medical attention for minor injuries, and two other men also suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital.
A 25-year-old Dover resident was detained last week on suspicion of killing someone while driving recklessly, seriously injuring someone while driving recklessly, and possessing class A and B substances, according to the police. Since then, he has been granted a conditional release on bond until November 10th.
Flowers were left near where he died, and messages have been posted online, with a former colleague saying they had “nothing but admiration for him”.
Mr Tagg’s partner, Emy May, said: “Never thought in a million years I’d be writing this.
“Heaven took another angel today. You was my soulmate and more.
“I really wish you’re at peace watching over us all. I can’t describe the pain I’m feeling.
