The 3 Tesla, one of the newest Tesla car models, might be seen on Dubai’s roads. The company teamed up with Tesla Motors in Dubai this month to add 269 Model 3 Tesla cars to Dubai’s taxi fleet.
This initiative aims to eventually make all taxis in Dubai completely environmentally friendly by 2027 by using hybrid, electric, and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
According to Arabia Taxi, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) five-year goal to reduce emissions and improve air quality in the Emirate will be aided by this new fleet.
The RTA added a Tesla Model 3 to the Dubai Taxi Corporation’s fleet as a test addition in July of last year. The company began by adding 172 Teslas to the Dubai Taxi fleet of limos in 2017. Arabia Taxi is a part of Economic Group Holdings. Approximately 6,000 taxis make up its fleet.
So says Sheikh Majid.
“The company is planning to convert the remaining vehicles to electric-only models, and it is also considering the possibility of using hydrogen-powered vehicles in the future. It is prepared to expand its partnership with Tesla and other electric car manufacturers to provide its customers with a variety of environmentally friendly and sustainable mobility options.”
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, asserted that the action would “promote the Dubai government’s initiative to introduce green vehicles for a cleaner environment.”
