After his attorney claimed his client’s “baby face” will make him a target in prison, a teenager accused of trying to kill a former Mongols biker will spend another weekend in jail.
On June 25, while Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim sat in his Mercedes-Benz leaving his cousin’s burial, he was shot many times outside Melbourne’s Fawkner Cemetery.
Despite receiving five chest shots, he amazingly survived the assault.
Yasir Al Qassim, 18, is being held in detention after being accused with attempted murder.
In court on Thursday, his attorney Adam Chernok presented a picture of the teen to magistrate Donna Bakos to support his request for bail.
According to Mr. Chernok, “Your Honour can see from the photograph that he actually is quite baby-faced,” adding that his appearance and youth rendered him “especially vulnerable,” according to Nine News.
“From here, you can already hear the wolves howling.”
Al Qassim had previously been detained for 11 days and testified in court through video link.
Police claim the 18-year-old was involved in assisting the two men in leaving the country after the incident, even though he is not charged with being one of the two alleged gunman.
The alleged gunmen made an attempt to flee in a stolen automobile but hit a post in their path.
