The August release date for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 in China has been confirmed. The book-shaped foldable smartphone, which has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support, is anticipated to succeed the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, which was released in August 2022. The upcoming phone is anticipated to feature improved specifications in a smaller form factor. According to a recent report, the phone’s charging specifications were hinted at when it was listed on the 3C certification website.
The report indicates that Mix Fold 3 will likely support 67W wired fast charging like its predecessor. The phone is rumored to have a 4,800mAh battery with support for 50W wireless fast charging.
The Mix Fold 3 is rumored to be thinner, lighter, and more durable than the Mix Fold 2, according to earlier leaks. The 2022 model had a thickness of 11.2mm and weighed 262 grams. It has also been reported that the phone won’t likely go on sale outside of China.
The upcoming device is expected to have a 6.5-inch cover screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a primary display that measures 8.02 inches in full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels). An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage is anticipated to power the Mix Fold 3.
In terms of optics, the Mix Fold 3 is anticipated to have a Leica-tuned camera unit with a zoom lens that can be extended up to 3.2 times and a 5x periscope lens for long-range zoom. According to reports, the selfie camera will probably be mounted beneath the display. The book-style foldable’s rumored waterdrop hinge is said to increase its capacity for drop resistance.
