A confirmed launch date for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 in China. The same was announced by Xiaomi President Lu Weibing in response to a comment on one of his Weibo posts. However, a tipster claims that the phone won’t go on sale abroad. It is anticipated that this new book-shaped foldable will succeed the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, which was made available in China in August 2022. The phone has a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. In the meantime, earlier leaks have suggested some crucial details of the Mix Fold 3.
Lu Weibing, the president of Xiaomi, published a post about the company’s upgraded new factory with improved manufacturing techniques. He stated in response to a commenter’s query that the eagerly anticipated Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will go on sale in China in August.
However, before the aforementioned post, tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) also tweeted that the Mix Fold 3 would be released soon. The tipper did, however, add that it’s likely the phone will only be sold in China and won’t be released abroad in any other markets.
Even though August is still a few weeks away, a few reports have already suggested some of the key details of the upcoming Xiaomi foldable. The handset’s decreased weight and thickness are said to be among its distinguishing features. The previous Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has a folded thickness of 11.2mm. The Mix Fold 3 is anticipated to be more robust than its predecessor while also being thinner and lighter.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is also most likely to have a waterdrop hinge, which is designed to increase its capacity for drop resistance. The phone, which is anticipated to go on sale with a white curved glass body, is anticipated to have Leica-tuned cameras and, most likely, two zoom lenses: a 3.2x wide-angle lens and a 5x periscope lens for long-range zoom. A selfie camera sensor hidden beneath the display is also rumored to be present.
A prior report implied that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 would debut with a waterproof design, though it did not specify an IP rating. A 6.5-inch external panel and an internal full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz are expected to be included. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage is said to power the phone.
