Jim Matthews, a WWJ anchor, was killed on Friday in an attempted murder-suicide in Macomb County.
For almost seven years, Matthews served as the anchor of the overnight news.
He cherished sharing his love for his kids, his admiration for them, and their educational experiences with his coworkers.

At a residence in Chesterfield Township on Friday, September 23, Matthews passed away from blunt force trauma.
A 35-year-old mother, a 10-year-old son, and a 5-year-old daughter are reportedly undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Both the 10-year-old boy and the 35-year-old lady sustained blunt force injuries, and their conditions are currently rated as critical.
According to officials, the suspect and the 5-year-old kid are both in a stable condition at a hospital.
