Heather Caras goes missing with car found with keys in ignition

After her car was discovered with her keys still in the ignition, the frantic search for a missing mother continues.

On a chilly January morning, Heather Caras, 39, left her home to start her car and hasn’t been seen since.

Caras, whose real name is Heather Wagoner, said goodbye to her two teenagers on January 24 before departing her home in Linton, North Dakota, which is roughly 60 miles southeast of Bismarck.

The Emmons County Sheriff’s Office claims that she then drove the family’s gold Chevy pickup vehicle “in an unknown direction and destination.”

Her automobile was discovered abandoned with the keys in the ignition the following day.

Police quickly conducted a foot search, an ATV search, and an overhead drone search, but they were unsuccessful.

“A total of four searches have been done in the area where her vehicle was located,” ECSO told The U.S. Sun.

“The searches were conducted utilizing drones, thermal imaging, officers conducting a grid search of the area on foot, and the use of a K9 bloodhound with no trace of Caras being located.”

Cops said Caras likely “willingly abandoned her vehicle” and “left her family and the area willingly with the assistance of an unknown acquaintance and is not known to be in any danger.”

Authorities think Caras may have asked someone outside of North Dakota to assist her in getting out of the area.

According to the sheriff’s office, she may have taken actions to evade detection.

According to ECSO, her children are being raised by their biological father.

“We are piecing together stuff by sharing all of our most recent messages with her.

“Please help us find Heather Caras we are all worried about her.”

Caras’ aunt, Deena McLellan shared that the mom has connections in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina, as well as in North Dakota.

“She could be anywhere,” the worried aunt said.
