The location of the eagerly anticipated match between Pakistan and India in the upcoming World Cup 2023 has come under dispute following the Asia Cup 2023.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) was given access to the preliminary schedule for the major event in India earlier this week by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The Men in Green will play India in a highly anticipated match on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, according to the proposed schedule.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), however, reportedly expressed concerns about the location and declined to approve the proposed schedule.
It was also stated that one of the primary causes for the postponement of the World Cup 2023 schedule announcement was the dispute over the venue between the neighboring countries.
The mega event’s Green Shirts will play group-stage matches at five different locations, according to the proposed schedule, with their campaign beginning on October 6.
Prior to traveling to Bengaluru to play Australia on October 20, the national team will play qualifiers on October 6 and 12 in their first and second games, respectively, in Hyderabad.
Then, on October 23 and October 27, respectively, Pakistan will play South Africa in Chennai, and on October 31, they will play Bangladesh in Kolkata.
On November 5, the Green Shirts will play a daytime match against New Zealand in Bengaluru, and on November 12, they will play their final game against England in Kolkata.
