A formidable 15-person squad from the Netherlands has been named for the eagerly anticipated 50-over World Cup 2023, which will get underway on October 5 in India.
Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann have joined the Selection Committee’s team to strengthen it, with Scott Edwards serving as the team’s captain for the major competition.
With standout performances during the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, van der Merwe and Ackermann both proved their mettle on the international stage.
The Netherlands will look to star all-rounder Bas de Leede and explosive top-order batsman Max O’Dowd to contribute significantly to the tournament.
In order to get ready for the major competition, the team will play two exhibition games against Australia on September 30 and India on October 3.
On October 6, in Hyderabad, the team led by Scott Edwards will face Pakistan in a difficult World Cup opener.
