According to a local source, a woman searching for her lost dog instead found the gruesome remains of a young Ohio mother who had been missing since 2017.
According to a police announcement earlier this week, the woman went looking for her dog in the woods in the east of Youngstown when she instead discovered Amy Hambrick’s body parts wrapped in fabric. Cleveland is located 65 miles southeast of Youngstown.
Using her jawbone and dental records, the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office was able to identify Hambrick’s remains, Youngstown Police Department Chief of Detectives Capt. Jason Simon said. How she passed away was a mystery.
According to WKBN.com, Hambrick was reported missing in November 2017 after she failed to arrive at a friend’s residence despite having made preparations to do so. She has a small daughter who was 10 years old and was 29 years old.
Amy and her daughter “were like two peas in a pod,” according to Debby Dolin, Hambrick’s mother, who spoke to the television station in 2018.
Chief Simon stated in a statement on Tuesday that neither the duration of Hambrick’s death nor the date that her body was buried in the wooded area could be established.
