Due to the worsening pollution conditions in the provincial capital, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the Government of Punjab to extend the winter break for Lahore’s schools and colleges by an additional week (2 January 2023 to 8 January 2023)
The Lahore High Court (LHC), which was hearing a petition requesting the court’s involvement to manage the deteriorating smog condition in the city, announced the decision to close schools and institutions in Lahore, according to the facts.
It is important to note that Lahore’s schools and colleges will observe winter break together with the rest of Punjab from 24 December 2022 to 31 January 2023, with regular academic activity set to resume on 2 January 2023.
In an earlier effort to control the growing fog situation, the Government of Punjab had declared three weekly holidays (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) for all public and private schools, institutions, and offices in the provincial capital.
A list of all public holidays for the upcoming calendar year (2023), which also includes optional holidays, has been made available by the government.
