Rapper Young Thug, who was born in Atlanta, is one of 11 children who were all raised by their mother in a house in Georgia.
Tragically, in late March 2023, his older sister Angela Grier passed suddenly.
Who was Young Thug’s sister Angela Grier?
Famous rapper Young Thug, formerly known as Jeffrey Lamar Williams, had an older sister named Angela Grier.
Quendarious, Farderren, and Aniya Grier were the three children she had as a mother.
It was confirmed that Angela had passed away on March 25.
Young Thu’s sister, Dolly White, had reposted a story stating: “Yesterday I was making a move and got a phone call that another love has passed away. @_dollywhite and Big Duck I send my deepest sympathy and prayers.”
The next day, Dolly shared a photo of Angela with the caption “sad heart emoji.”
It is unknown what caused Angela’s death.
This death occurs while Young Thug is incarcerated on gang-related charges.
Rapper Gunna and Young Thug’s sibling Unfoonk were two of the 28.
Gunna entered an Alford plea in December 2022, meaning he admitted guilt to one crime while maintaining his innocence on the others.
Gunna was initially given a five-year prison term, but he is currently merely performing 500 hours of community service.
Rapper Quintavious Grier, popularly known as Unfoonk, is the sibling of Young Thug who was also detained on RICO suspicions.
Grier entered a guilty plea, similar to Gunna. His original 12-year prison sentence was reduced to 10-years of probation and two years for time already served.
While many have been freed, Young Thug is still behind bars and has recently been charged with new crimes.
A judge rejected Young Thug’s application for bond in June 2022.
Young Thug’s upcoming release from prison is uncertain given the recent addition of new charges against him.
But, from the initial 56 counts following his arrest in May, his charges have been cut to only eight.
The investigation into Young Thug’s trial started in January 2023 and is still ongoing.
