A DEVASTATED football team has paid homage to a sadly deceased young player.
Teddy Disson-Meade, 14, of WealdstoneFC, died earlier this week.
The London club paid tribute to the teen online.
In a post it said: “It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we announce that Wealdstone Youth U14 Reds player Teddy Disson-Meade sadly passed away earlier this week.
“Teddy was a fantastically gifted player but more importantly a popular and valued member of our U14 group, he will be greatly missed by all his friends here at the club.
“Our thoughts go out to his parents Sinead and Ricky at this time and of course to all his friends and family.
“Our first team squad will wear t-shirts in Teddy’s memory during the warm up at Saturday’s fixture away at Southend United and there will be a minute’s silence before the game.
Others rushed to pay tribute to the teen on the Twitter post.
One woman wrote: “This is heartbreaking, such a lovely young lad. sending healing thoughts and love to Teddy’s family, friends, teammates.”
