Who was Saul Murray?
33-year-old Saul Murray was a resident of Luton.
His social media accounts demonstrate that he enjoyed being associated with high-profile fashion labels.
This was done to draw the attention of two girls who were going to set the father of six up for a honeytrap.
Who are Surpreet Dhillon and Temidayo Awe?
Saul Murray was the target of Surpreet Dhillon and Temidayo Awe after they saw pictures of his Rolex watches uploaded to Instagram.
Murray and Dhillon were to communicate via the platform before exchanging phone numbers.
The girls then made plans to go to his Luton home.
The 36-year-old came up with the plan with some friends after seeing Murray’s social media posts flaunting his apparent wealth and designer watches.
To meet Saul Murray at his home, Temidayo Awe, a 21-year-old from Gillingham, travelled with Supreet Dhillon.
What happened to Saul Murray?
Late on February 26, 2022, Murray made plans to meet with the two women and extended an invitation to his Luton home.
The women were seen on CCTV cameras entering the building as he welcomed them into his apartment.
Before Surpreet Dhillon put date rape drug GHB in Murray’s drink, they shared a brandy and had sex.
Temidayo Awe allegedly left the property to find their other two accomplices because the drug levels used were not sufficient to render Saul Murray unconscious.
About 20 minutes later, two men were seen entering the property, and then the two women were seen leaving together on camera.
About 19 seconds later, the two men followed them closely.
One of the people was clearly holding a knife in his hand.
The following day, Saul Murray’s body was discovered in his apartment, having bled to death from a stab wound that had punctured an artery.
The murderer of Murray was identified thanks to a distinctive £1300 designer coat he was seen wearing in a takeaway food shop a few days earlier. The two unidentified men were located by police using GPS information from a car they were seen fleeing in.
Ikem Affia was found guilty of murder and given an 11-year sentence, while his accomplice received a life sentence with a minimum of 25 years in prison.
Awe received a combined seven-year sentence of seven years for manslaughter and six years for conspiring to commit robbery. She was exonerated of the murder charge.
