Sarah Dreyer went missing in Riverview, Florida
Sarah vanished on Monday, April 10, after dropping her children off at school and coming home about 8:30 a.m. local time.
She left her house later that day and walked to the rear entrance of Bell Creek Nature Preserve in Riverview, Florida.
Sarah was seen on someone’s Ring camera at 2 p.m. local time, and the clip showed her wandering alone with only her phone.
On April 11, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) issued a missing person notice on Twitter, encouraging the public to contact them if they had any information on the lady.
Search operations for missing Sarah commenced
Two volunteer organisations assisted in the hunt for the Florida lady.
After Sarah went missing, We Are The Essentials, an organisation made up of retired law enforcement officers, and Sunshine State Sonar, a firm that specialises in underwater sonar equipment, began the search and rescue efforts.
Sunshine State Sonar verified the operation in a Facebook post, writing, “Today we teamed up with the local search team (We Are The Essentials).” We arrived at Sarah’s house about 3:30 p.m.
“After a quick chat with Sarah’s friends and family, we sonar searched the lake behind her home. When that search turned up nothing, we decided to search a heavily wooded nature preserve at the end of her street.”
“Two hours into that ground search and approximately [two] miles deep in the woods, we were able to locate Sarah,” Sunshine State Sonar explained in the social media post. “Unfortunately, she was deceased.”
They finished the post with the message: “Please pray for Sarah’s children. Lots of tears tonight. This is a heartbreaking situation.”
Sarah’s death was verified by the two volunteer organisations in separate Facebook posts.
