Teachers remember a 7-year-old Louisiana girl who was killed by a neighbor’s pitbull as having “a spark inside her.”
For the grieving staff and children at Woodlawn Elementary, moving forward after Sadie Davila’s passing on Friday will be challenging.
“From the day that her grandma came to register her, she just had a light inside of her that could not be contained and absolutely anybody who she comes into contact with just instantly falls in love with her,” Vanessa Bloss, the principal at Woodlawn Elementary, told WAFB.
Bloss noted that the attack’s “abrupt and thoughtless” character only deepens the sorrow over the young girl’s passing.
Grace Feucht, Sadie’s two-year music and theatre instructor, remarked that the girl maintained a pleasant attitude throughout the pandemic.
“In her short seven years, she did so much‚ and so rather than thinking about the things that she didn’t do or didn’t get to do. I’m thinking about the things she did do and who she was,” Feucht said.
Feucht added she’ll recall the “things Sadie taught me.”
“I know going into school on Monday, there are some things in my perspective that will be shifted,” she said.
