Audrey Hale, 28, was a former student at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, according to NBC News.
According to reports, the shooter identified as transgender.
It’s unclear whether Hale had any other connections to the victims.
On March 27, 2023, Hale allegedly entered the school through a side entrance at around 10.13 a.m.
The suspect, who was killed by police at 10.27 a.m., was also a Nashville resident, according to police.
Following the shootings, Hale’s home in the city’s Belmont neighbourhood was seen being searched.
