Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most brutal killers in US history.
He was known as “The Milwaukee Cannibal,” and between 1978 and 1991, he slaughtered and dismembered at least 17 men and adolescents.
Who was Jeffrey Dahmer?
Jeffrey Dahmer was born in Milwaukee on May 21, 1960.
“He was described as an energetic and happy child until the age of four when surgery to correct a double hernia seemed to effect a change in the boy,” according to Biography.com.
“Noticeably subdued, he became increasingly withdrawn following the birth of his younger brother and the family’s frequent moves.
“By his early teens, he was disengaged, tense and largely friendless.”
Why was Jeffrey Dahmer called ‘The Milwaukee Cannibal’?
After his sick and homicidal reign of terror, Jeffery acquired the horrible moniker.
Over a 13-year period, he killed and dismembered 17 males before being caught by the police.
He would save various body parts as mementos, such as genitalia and skulls.
“He eventually convinced authorities to allow him to integrate more fully with other inmates.”
In the Wisconsin prison, Dahmer discovered Christianity, and a local priest authorised his baptism.
How did Jeffrey Dahmer die?
On November 28, 1994, Christopher Scarver, a fellow prisoner at Columbia Correctional Institution, killed Jeffrey Dahmer.
During the attack, Scarver also brutally beat prisoner Jesse Anderson to death.
“He crossed the line with some people – prisoners, prison staff,” Scarver told the New York Post in 2015, referring to Dahmer.
