A SECOND student has tragically passed away while on spring break.
This past week, while there were no classes, Henry Meacock, a student from New Jersey attending Ohio State University, passed away.
A spokesman for the Ohio State University confirmed the young finance major’s passing in a statement issued to the school community.
“The Ohio State community has suffered a tragic loss, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Henry Meacock,” the university said in a statement.
The representative offered support to Meacock’s loved ones.
“Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time,” they added.
There is no available information on Meacock’s obituary, and the cause of death has not yet been made public.
Students at Ohio State are urged to get help from Student Life’s Counseling and Consultation Service during this trying time.
Meacock passed away shortly after another college student unexpectedly passed out while travelling to Mexico for spring break.
According to the New York Post, University of Georgia student Liza Burke suffered a brain haemorrhage while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas with her friends.
A portion of the college senior’s skull was removed during emergency surgery, and she was put on life support before being flown back to the United States.
She is receiving care at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and is anticipated to make a full recovery.
As students swarm the beaches during spring break, there have been an increasing number of reports of shootings, kidnappings, and drownings.
