Tragically, a football player Freshman Carter Stone passed away the evening before he was slated to start his debut.
After undergoing shoulder surgery, freshman Carter Stone, 15, was diagnosed with an unidentified form of leukaemia.
According to The Acorn, he had the surgery on August 25, the day after commencing high school in Agoura, California.
He had a cardiac tumour, according to the doctors.
Before he passed away, Stone is thought to have experienced a heart attack during the procedure.
The Agoura High School Chargers’ top quarterback Stone passed away the night before he was scheduled to play in his debut football game.
He was allegedly eager to get on the field, according to NBC station WRC-TV.
After the child passed away, tributes were given to him.
Clint Cummings, the athletic director, praised Stone’s work ethic.
He [Stone] put in the time, according to Cummings. He was here at every practice, he showed up every day.”
A family friend posted on GoFundMe: “Carter was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and work ethic.
“He was a dedicated football player looking forward to his career at Agoura High School.”
Mourners have said that Stone was a “helpful, kind and caring” boy as they posted messages of condolence online.
He added: “He was the epitome of everything that we’re about here at Agoura and our ‘A-Town’ culture.”
