Three nine-year-olds, including a brave Nashville girl who perished while attempting to sound a fire alarm to stop a wicked school shooter, have been identified and photographed.
Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney of Covenant School were photographed for the first time after being slain by mass murderer Audrey Hale, 28, on Monday.
Evelyn died while attempting to draw the fire alarm to prevent Hale from opening fire on her peers and instructors, according to MailOnline.
She was characterised as a “shining light,” and her passing has left the family “completely broken.”
“Our hearts are completely broken,” Evelyn Dieckhaus’s heartbroken family said in a statement. We can’t believe it occurred.
“Evelyn was a shining light in this world. We appreciate all the love and support but ask for space as we grieve.“
Friends of William Kinney put up a GoFundMe page to assist their family with burial expenses.
They paid their respects to the 9-year-old, who was characterised as “always kind and gentle.”
“Our friends are walking through the unimaginable…losing their son at the Covenant School shooting,” organiser Rachael Freitas posted.
“Will had an unflappable spirit. He was unfailingly kind, gentle when the situation called for it, quick to laugh, and always inclusive of others.
