Who was Courtney Fannon?
In Kendall, New York, Courtney Fannon taught special needs students at Kendall Elementary School.
The 29-year-old was expecting their daughter, Hadley Jaye Fannon, with a man by the name of Kurtis.
One GoFundMe page dedicated to Courtney and Hadley states that there are “endless amount of positive and good things” to say about her.
“She was a special education teacher in the Kendall School District and was the perfect person to fill the role,” it continues.
“She was loving, genuine and organized in a way that always placed her students ahead of herself, ultimately changing the lives of her students and caregivers, always for the positive.”
“If there was one thing that was made apparent, she was the mom of our friend group,” it continues, in part.
“Courtney was always prepared for any and all possibilities, and just when you had something you never thought would happen occurred, she was there with all the things you could imagine to fix the problem.”
The page also refers to Courtney as “selfless,” as well as “irreplaceable and kind hearted.”

Courtney tragically and suddenly died at the age of 29 on Friday, March 8, 2024.
Her unborn daughter, Hadley Jaye, also passed away.
“Courtney was a special education teacher who served her students with passion and joy each day,” District Superintendent Nick Picardo said in a message to the community, per Orleans Hub.
“When she wasn’t in her classroom sharing her love and gift for teaching with her students, she could be found walking our halls with a smile and a friendly hello,” he continued.
Matt Smith, a close friend of Courtney’s husband, Kurtis, started a GoFundMe page to help Kurtis as he grieves the loss of his wife and unborn child.
“They were called to eternal rest the night of March 8th, after a very tragic and unexpected turn of events. On the afternoon of that day, Courtney was spending it just as she typically would, finishing up her day as a special education teacher in Kendall,” it continues.
“Unfortunately, mere moments after sending a message to her husband she was found unresponsive. Upon transporting her to the hospital, life saving measures began for both her and Hadley Jaye, however by 6:30pm that night, they were both declared dead.
“As the news spread, our small, tight-knit community was once again called upon to come together and help in all ways possible, however this one felt different.
“As we all gathered, to pay respects and to provide support, there was an eerie silence that was constant throughout the room, which rarely, if ever, occurs within our group.”
“On Friday, March 8th, the world lost 2 beautiful souls, Courtney Fannon and Hadley Jaye Fannon, long before any of us were ready to live in a world without them,” the page states, in part.
