Sadly, Cherry Valentine, a star of RuPaul’s Drag Race, passed away at the age of 28.
On September 23, 2022, the TV star’s family made the heartbreaking announcement.
Who was Cherry Valentine?
George Ward, better known as Cherry Valentine, was born and raised in Darlington, County Durham.
George, who grew up in a community of travellers, graduated in 2015 as a mental health nurse before beginning a drag career and taking the name Cherry Valentine.
Her most notable role was as a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
The BBC documentary Gypsy Queen And Proud featured Cherry as well.
In 2020, Cherry made an appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s second season.
She characterised herself as “glamourous,” “dark,” and “gothic” in the show’s introduction trailer.
“It put me in that right position to be able to comprehend people a bit more,” she said of her work as a nurse.
“A drag queen is someone who works with people. And I believe you go above and beyond to understand them.
Cherry Valentine Death
It has been made known that Cherry, who was only 28 years old, tragically passed suddenly on September 19, 2022.
Unknown at this time is the cause of death.
“It is with the most heartbreaking and profound regret that we inform you that our George – Cherry Valentine – has unfortunately passed away,” said a statement from Cherry’s family.
“This will come as a profound shock to most people and we understand there is no easy way for this to be announced.
“We understand how much he is loved and how many lives he has inspired and touched.
“All we ask is for your patience and your prayers in this time. We love you Georgie.”
