Who was Charlie Newling?
Charlie Newling was an early front-runner on The Bachelorette Australia.
Following the program, he dated Dasha Gaivoronski from the Honey Badger season of The Bachelor and then began dating blogger Esme DeWitt in 2019.
He had been in a relationship with Kristal Taylor since 2021.
Charlie previously acknowledged to NW magazine in September 2012 that he has a son from a prior relationship.
Following his retirement from television, Newling maintained a low profile and worked as a builder.
Since leaving the show, the reality star has had a difficult existence.
Days after leaving Channel 10, video emerged of him being dragged from Sydney’s Golden Sheaf pub by security.
Newling claimed he was drinking to celebrate his role on The Project and later acknowledged to struggling with alcoholism.
He was sentenced to 13 months in prison in September of last year for threatening to torture and kill his stepfather via a carriage service.
The magistrate heard at the time that he had experienced substantial childhood trauma when his paraplegic father died in 2018 from an overdose of pain medication.
He was imprisoned for one month before serving the remainder of his sentence in the community.

Charlie was discovered dead when his automobile fell from a cliff in Dover Heights on September 9, 2023, according to the Daily Mail Australia.
After a citizen saw the automobile in flames at the bottom of the 70-metre cliff at Raleigh Reserve in Sydney, police raced to the scene.
In July 2023, the actor died just two months after the birth of his second daughter with partner Kristal.
