The murder of Vermont’s top cyclist Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson will be covered in Friday’s premiere of “Dateline NBC.”
Having been shot numerous times inside a residence on May 11, Wilson, a 25-year-old Vermont native who was in Austin, Texas, for a cycling competition, was discovered bleeding and unconscious by a friend. At the scene, she was pronounced deceased.
Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, a 34-year-old yoga instructor, has been charged in Wilson’s death. According to investigators, Armstrong shot Wilson after learning that the sportsperson had a love relationship with his cycling companion.
The incident sparked what later turned into an international quest for Armstrong, who according to U.S. Marshals left the region after speaking with detectives and eventually travelled to Costa Rica using a false passport and many names. She was returned to the United States after being discovered at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas. To the accusations made against her, she has entered a not guilty plea.
Armstrong’s defence counsel will be among those interviewed for the two-hour Dateline episode “The Last Ride” with correspondent Keith Morrison. Friday at 9 p.m. ET is when it airs.
