Russian billionaire and well-known businesswoman Yelena Baturina. On March 8, 1963, she was born in Moscow, Russia. Baturina’s real estate development company, Inteco Management, contributed to her success and wealth.
When Baturina founded Inteco Management in 1991, the early post-Soviet years of Russia saw her rise to prominence. The company expanded to become one of Russia’s largest and most successful real estate development firms, taking part in numerous construction projects across the country.
Yelena Baturina was wed to Yuri Luzhkov, the mayor of Moscow from 1992 until his passing in 2019. This makes her famous. During Baturina’s tenure as mayor, his company benefited from several lucrative contracts for the construction of important city projects. Yelena Baturina was listed by Forbes in 2011 as the richest woman in Russia and one of the richest self-made female billionaires worldwide.
From 1999 to 2005, Baturina served as the Russian Equestrian Federation’s president. She was successful in raising the necessary funds to raise the level of equestrian competition in Russia.
Baturina currently oversees the BE OPEN Foundation she founded in 2012. The Mayor’s Fund for London and BE OPEN work closely together. Baturina worked as a trustee for the Mayor’s Fund for London from 2017 to 2019.
The Sunday Times Rich List predicted that Baturina’s net worth would be £1.133 billion in 2021. She also owns a private plane, a lot of hotels and resorts, and farmland. Additionally, she is the proprietor of the “Veedern” horse breeding estate, which dates back to the 18th century.
