JEOPARDY! During Tuesday’s show, viewers were left doing a Daily Double-take for the funniest possible cause.
Dozens of fans tweeted on how strangely similar the current champion Troy Meyer and competitor Joe Incollingo appeared to be.
The incumbent champion competed against Joe, a film and TV publicist from Los Angeles, California, and Linda Napikoski, an ESL teacher from Phoenix, Arizona.
Troy, a music businessman from Tampa, Florida, won his fourth game for $40K, giving him a $137K total over the course of four days.
Troy has not yet reached his limit in terms of gameplay, but it appeared to fans that he done so in a more direct sense.
Jeopardy! He and Joe at the middle podium struck people on Twitter as having an odd resemblance.
In addition, spectators noted that the two finalists had their hair parted in the exact opposite directions and that they had worn “reverse” clothing to one another.
Curiously, Troy wore a grey suit with a black shirt and Joe a black suit with a grey shirt.
One user wrote: “Is it me or do the two male contestants on Jeopardy! look like they were separated at birth?”
Another wondered: “Does anyone else think Troy and Joe both could’ve played Clark Kent at some point in their lives?”
A third asked: “Is anyone else seeing double on tonight’s Jeopardy? Troy and Joe could be brothers!”
A fourth added: “I really like how Troy’s and Joe’s looks are a reverse of each other! Joe’s hair is even parted on the opposite side.”
A fifth agreed on the Superman-in-disguise category: “It was strange watching 2 Clark Kents at the same time!”
As a fifth replied to them: “I know, it was uncanny!”
Although five victories would guarantee Troy’s place in the 2023 Tournament of Champions, he has already qualified.
Fans’ favourite Ray Lalonde, who has 13 victories, former poker pro Cris Pannullo, who has 21 victories, five-day champion Luigi de Guzman, and four-day champion and priest David Sibley are the other competitors who will be back.
Fans have not been afraid to admit that the prospective up-and-coming champ has a similar appearance to actor Bill Hader.
Given that Troy’s victories have all been marked by significant dollar signs, Ken Jennings, 48, has hosted what may be the next major winning streak.
The game show’s 47-year-old co-host Mayim Bialik is anticipated to return in late February.
Mayim will begin sponsoring a new teen competition because her Call Me Kat timetable is taking longer than intended.
Ken will host the newest Jeopardy!, so fans will see more of him. A spin-off of The Masters is expected to premiere in the spring at a prime time slot.
