The University of Mississippi awarded Tadarrius a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and law enforcement in 2020.
He was identified as Tadarrius Marrielle Bean on the University of Mississippi’s 2020 commencement list, where he was noted as having received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
In August 2020, he was subsequently hired by the Memphis Police Department in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
Tyre Nichols, a native of Memphis, was reportedly hurt at a traffic stop on January 7, 2023, by Tadarrius Bean and other Memphis Police Department officers. Tyre Nichols was later declared dead on January 10, 2023.
Justin Smith, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Tadarrius were the coworkers who were involved in the event.
Subsequently, Memphis PD chief Cerelyn Davis made s statement saying: “This is not just a professional failing, this is a failing of basic humanity toward another individual.
“This incident was heinous, reckless, and inhumane.
“In the vein of transparency, when the video is released in the coming days, you will see this for yourselves.”

On January 26, 2023, Tadarrius and Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith were arrested in connection with Tyre’s death.
