Following the massacre at Covenant School in Nashville on Monday, Samantha Hyde’s image, a 4chan meme, has gone viral on social media. She’s being referred to as the 28-year-old suspect by some Twitter users who are spreading false information.
Officials stated that the mass shooting event claimed the lives of three kids and the same number of staff personnel. The suspect, a lady in her 28s, also passed away. According to a Justice Department official, US Attorney General Merrick Garland was briefed on the incident.
Initial police findings indicate that the shooter has attended the school in the past. In a press conference, Chief of Police for Metro Nashville John Drake stated, “From my first findings, at one point, she was a student at that institution.”
The suspect has not yet been named, though. Social media users frequently speculate that Samantha Hyde was the shooter. It is untrue.

“Nashville Police have positively identified the corpse of the suspected Nashville Covenant School shooter as 31 year old Samantha Hyde. Social media posts indicate Samantha was a trans woman who previously went by the name Samuel,” a Twitter user said.
“If you see that the shooter’s name is Samantha Hyde and is a MtF transwoman, that’s a lie. It’s a fake image and a MAGA disinformation tactic after every mass shooting. The real image is of Sam Hyde,” one more added.
“Beware of hoax claims that the Nashville shooter was Samantha Hyde — a spin-off of a 4chan meme about comedian Sam Hyde that spreads after mass shootings — or Clara Sorrenti, a Canadian trans activist and Twitch streamer known as “Keffals” who has been targeted by hate campaigns,” a third one tweeted.
Samantha Hyde or Sam Hyde has trended after almost all mass shootings recently – during Parkland, Las Vegas, San Bernardino and more.
Sam Hyde is a comedian and a meme in the 4chan community, Buzzfeed notes.
Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace, a former top-rated comedy on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim lineup, stars Hyde. He is very much in line with the alt-right, according to concentric.io.
