Saffron Drewitt-Barlow leads a lavish life as the daughter of Britain’s first gay fathers, ex-couple and multi-millionaires Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow. But what else do we know about her?
Who is Saffron Drewitt-Barlow?
Saffron is known as the quintessential daddy’s girl, having grown up with not one, but two affluent daddies who catered to her every need.
She made headlines on December 9, 1999, when she and her twin brother Aspen became the first children in the United Kingdom to be registered as having two fathers and no mother.
Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow, her fathers, were the first gay men in the United Kingdom to father children through surrogacy.
They have a son, Orlando, and twin boys, Jasper and Dallas.
In January 2023, Saffron shared a snap on Instagram of a baby scan with hte caption: “Absolutely over the moon – we can’t to meet you. Due July 2023.”
The next month Saffron posted that she was expecting a daughter: “A baby girl on the way – the happiest day of my life yet xxx.”
Dad Barrie posted from a gender reveal party for his daughter: “Todays the day we find out what the sex of Saffron & Connors baby!!!”
In April 2023, Saffron shared a baby bump picture on her Instagram page.
How much surgery has Saffron had?
Saffron disclosed in 2021 that despite being in her early twenties, she had spent $100,000 (£78k) on treatments.
She also discussed her extravagant beautification regimen.
She claims her two fathers are completely behind her, and she admits she would cry if she had less than $1 million in the bank.
“I was tiny before, I didn’t even have to wear a bra,” she wrote in her Fabulous column in 2021. I didn’t bother because I was a 34AA but went to a whole C.
“When I told my daddy [Barrie] what I was planning he just said, ‘Oh go big. If you’re paying for something get the biggest and the best you can so you don’t have to go back.’
“He was really anti me keeping it natural, he wanted me to get a DD. But I didn’t want them to be overblown, it’s not for me.
“I’m having it on Tuesday, it’s my treat after my dad [Tony] gave me $15million last week to celebrate a business windfall.
“It’s costing me $30,000, which is nothing really.
“Before these two procedures I’d only had my lips done, I started that when I was 16 because I hated how thin they were.
“Pre-Covid times I’d have top-ups every three-to-six months, I’ve probably spent about $50,000 in total on them.”
She also planned to have a Brazilian Butt Lift.
What happened with Saffron’s ex?
The heiress dated Scott Hutchison, with whom she intended to conceive a child via surrogacy since she thought herself “too posh to push.”
Scott, on the other hand, has had his head turned by none other than Saffron’s very own daddy Barrie.
Barrie and Tony “slid into a platonic relationship” after Tony was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2006.
While Tony was in the ICU in 2018, Scott became a “shoulder to cry on” for Barrie.
Saffron stated that Barrie and Scott had sex in a lay-by and snogged in front of her.
Saffron revealed to Closer that Tony gave Barrie and Scott his blessing and that her other father has found happiness with his nurse, Brent.
Scott and Barrie have a daughter now.
Saffron still lives with dads Barrie and Tony, ex Scott, her twin brother Aspen, younger brother Orlando, twins Jasper and Dallas, and baby Valentina in a 10-bedroom mansion costing £6million.
And she insists there’s no “weird love triangle” between her, her dad and her ex.
How much money does Saffron have?
Saffron receives a monthly income of £5,000, and the twins were given identical Range Rovers for their 18th birthdays – white for Saffron and black for Aspen.Her indulgent parents put £1 million into Saffron’s first firm, Barking Mad Cosmetics, so she could stand on her own two feet.
“I know I am incredibly lucky,” Saffron told the Daily Mail. Dad and Daddy appreciate the better things in life, which they have passed on to me.
“They have always been incredibly generous and love spoiling my brothers and me.
“They aren’t afraid to let people see how we live. They’re self-made, and they tell us that if you make your own money then you can choose to spend it how you like.”
What do Saffron’s dads do?
The two men have a combined wealth of £40million from various business ventures, including a global medical research company, and live an extravagant life.
Barrie said: “We are incredibly proud of all our children, but we’ve told them we intend to leave a lot of our millions to charity as we want our children to get jobs and make their own way in life, just as we did.
“While we make no apologies for spoiling them, we have also taught them the value of money and we never let them forget where we came from.”
Who is Saffron Drewitt-Barlow’s mum?
Saffron and Aspen were conceived with Tracie McCune’s donor eggs and carried in the womb of another woman, Rosalind Bellany.
Despite the fact that both Barrie and Tony fathered children, they have never revealed which father is the biological father of which twin because they want to be equal parents.
Saffron is driven to succeed in her own way, despite having been pampered with the better things in life.
She said: “I am not going to be just a rich kid sponging off her parents for the rest of my life.”
Barrie says he was happy to lend his daughter the money to start her business, saying: “I don’t want any of my kids to have to work at McDonald’s or mop floors to make ends meet, so I won’t apologise for giving Saffron her first step on the ladder.”
