After a brief courtship, DUA Lipa and her filmmaker lover Romain Gavras are rumored to have broken up.
The two got acquainted for the first time during Paris Fashion Week in March 2023.
Who is Romain Gavras?
Director of music videos and filmmaker Romain Gavras.
He was born in Paris, France, on July 4, 1981. His father is the filmmaker Costa-Gavras.
He directed the music video for the 2012 song “No Church in the Wild” by Jay-Z and Kanye West as well as the 2013 Dior Homme commercial starring Robert Pattinson.
In 2012, he directed the M.I.A. song “Bad Girls,” for which he received two MTV Video Music Awards—one each for Best Cinematography and Best Direction.
Gavras has spoken about growing up in Paris and his artistic background.
He told Purple Diary in 2010: “My father is the film director Costa-Gavras. His father is Kiki Picasso, a politically engaged artist, graphic designer, and video director.”
Speaking about his music videos, he said “When I made the two music videos that generated the most attention — the one called ‘Stress’ for Justice and the video for M.I.A., both of which are very violent — I refused to give interviews or to explain them.
“My silence is part of the package. There’s nothing to say. You take from it what you can.”
Did Romain Gavras date Rita Ora?
After six months of dating Rita, Romain announced their split in March 2021.
He acknowledged that it was difficult for the couple to see one another while Rita was in Australia filming The Voice.
Verifying the divided reports. “Rita and Romain split up months ago because of difficulties with their respective work commitments,” a spokesman for Romain stated.
“They remain, close friends.”
It was officially confirmed that they were no longer together and broke up before Christmas 2020.
The pair enjoyed a whirlwind romance during their brief relationship with exotic holidays in Ibiza and Corfu.
Days after rumors of their romance surfaced, the couple was first seen together in March 2023, as they left Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week presentation in New York.
They were seen leaving a Bafta’s afterparty together a few days later.
They have been “quietly getting to know each other for months,” a source told The Sun.
“They have been enjoying spending time together,” the source continued.
“Dua knows how important it is to find someone who understands her industry. She feels Romain totally gets it. They’re both really creative people.”
And then in May 2023, they went red carpet official at the Cannes Film Festival, making their relationship public.
After eight months together, it was announced on December 3, 2023, that the pair had split.
A source told The Sun: “Dua and Romain have gone their separate ways after a summer of love.
“She has blinkers on when it comes to her career and the pair ended the relationship before things turned sour.
“Romain considered Dua to be a workaholic but she doesn’t plan on slowing down for anything or anyone.”
In 2023, Romain’s net worth is projected to be $5 million (£4 million).
This is a result of his prosperous and acclaimed filmmaking career.
In 2018, he directed the French comedy The World Is Yours.
His most recent full-length endeavor was the 2022 motion picture Athena, which debuted in September at the 79th Venice Film Festival.
At the Venice Film Festival, the movie was nominated for a Golden Lion Award, which is the equivalent of an Oscar.
Later, Netflix started to release it.
