A mother of three is charged along with her alleged toyboy lover with hiring a hitman to kill her husband after he filed for divorce.
Former beauty queen Lindsay Shiver, 36, was detained after police in the Bahamas unintentionally thwarted the alleged murderous plot.
Richard Shiver, who is he?
US citizen Lindsay, who is from Georgia, divorced her husband Robert Shiver after falling in love with Terrance Bethel, a local. Robert, a former football player for Auburn University and a current insurance executive, reportedly found out about the liaison and filed for divorce.
At that point, he allegedly became the target of the murderous scheme. Police accidentally discovered the scam while investigating another case, according to the report.
After a break-in at a local pub in Great Guana Cay, they were scouring a suspect’s phone for evidence early in July. Apparently discovered by police, incriminating text messages described the alleged hitman plot.
It is claimed that when the texts were unintentionally found, the plan was stopped before it could be carried out. Lindsay, her alleged lover Bethel, 28, and Faron Newbold, a local man who police believe was hired for the job, were all taken into custody.
The three suspects are being held in custody in Nassau, the Bahamas’ capital. They did not have to enter a plea when they first appeared in court on Friday; instead, they were scheduled to return on October 5.
Robert and Lindsay, who are the parents of three children, owned a home in the Bahamas, according to a source who spoke with the Thomasville Times-Enterprise.
According to Lindsay’s Instagram account, she first met Robert in a fitness class at Auburn University in 2007.
Robert joined the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent after serving as the snapper for Auburn University but was released before the 2009 season.
Lindsay was named Miss Houston County in 2005 and finished in second place at the National Peanut Festival.
