Police searching for a woman who vanished while hiking a nature trail reported finding a woman’s body.
The 37-year-old Rachel Morin vanished last night after saying she was going for a walk on the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air. She vanished sometime after six o’clock. The body of a woman was found today at 1:07 pm on the trail, according to the police.
After she disappeared, people were urged to keep an eye out for any sightings of her, which resulted in a significant police search. An earlier police update stated that her car had been found abandoned at the beginning of a nature walk.
Just this morning, a sheriff’s office representative said the search for Rachel was “very active” and urged anyone with information to contact detectives. The police later updated their Facebook post with terrible news, though.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook, “Update #2. A female was discovered dead off the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air at around 1.07 pm. Investigations continue into the victim’s identity, as well as the manner and cause of death. We kindly ask that you refrain from posting any information you may know (or speculate) on this post as this is still a very active and ongoing investigation. We are just as curious as you are! I’m grateful.
The earlier police update stated that Rachel’s car was found abandoned at the Williams Street entrance to the nature trail. She was described as having blonde hair, blue eyes, and a height of about 5 feet 2 inches. She weighed 107 pounds. According to the police, she was last seen wearing a black sports bra, gray sneakers, black Spandex shorts, and either a blue or black tank top.
Rachel was from Maryland, and the Ma and Pa Trail is close to Bel Air, which serves as the county seat of Harford County. Harford County is located not far from the Maryland-Pennsylvania border, about 30 miles north of Baltimore.
