PRINCESS Diana, Dodi Fayed, and the driver, Henri Paul, perished in a car accident in 1997.

Former paratrooper and bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones survived the horrific collision but had permanent disabilities. Here are some details about him and his current location.

Who is Trevor Rees-Jones?

On March 3, 1968, Trevor Rees-Jones, who now goes by the name Trevor Rees, was born in Rinteln, Germany.

He was the middle child of British Army surgeon Colin Rees and Gill, a nurse.

His family relocated to Oswestry, Shropshire, when he was ten years old. He attended Fitzalan School, where he met Sue Jones, his future wife.

At school, Trevor joined the Combined Cadet Force. After earning his A-levels, he enlisted in the 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment, where he served for one tour in Northern Ireland.

He started working for Harrods owner Mohammed al-Fayed, the father of Dodi Fayed and later the People’s Princess, as a private security guard in 1995.

When did he become Princess Diana’s bodyguard?

Dodi, the playboy son of al-Fayed, and later his girlfriend Princess Diana were both under Trevor’s protection while he was working as al-bodyguard. Fayed’s

In the summer of 1997, when the horrible car accident occurred, he was travelling with them.

Later, the bodyguard denied allegations made by his former employer that Diana and Dodi had selected an engagement ring together in Monte Carlo a week before their deaths in Paris.

Every bone in Trevor’s face was broken, and he also had catastrophic damage to his chest and head. He was unconscious for ten days.

His shattered face was rebuilt by surgeons using 150 pieces of titanium and family photos as a reference.

None of the four occupants of the car were wearing seat belts, according to an inquiry.

The driver tested three times the legal limit for alcohol consumption.

A jury in an inquest determined that Mr. Paul’s reckless driving and the activities of the chasing paparazzi caused Diana’s unjustified death.

For the first time in five years, a photo of Princess Diana’s lone survivor who is still scarred from the automobile accident has surfaced.

Trevor Rees-Jones, Di’s bodyguard, is a 54-year-old man who was seen waiting for his family in a Morrisons while driving a BMW.

The scars on his face serve as a reminder of the accident on August 31, 1997, which also took the lives of Di’s lover Dodi Al Fayed and his driver Henri Paul.

The former bodyguard is depicted in The Sun on Sunday’s world-exclusive photos living a tranquil life in Shropshire.

It comes at a time when a brand-new Channel 4 programme is exploring what happened on that tragic Parisian night 25 years ago.

Former police chiefs discuss their three-year investigation’s interview with Prince Charles.

One claimed that Diana’s assertions that Charles wanted her dead “flabbergasted” him.

Rees-Jones suffered from brain trauma, memory loss, and a coma lasting ten days. He also broke every bone in his face.

He was put back together by surgeons using 150 titanium components and a face reconstruction from an old photograph.

He went back to Britain following a month in the hospital.

He was able to converse at the time only by whispering and taking notes.

He currently resides on several acres of property in a sizable detached house with his wife and two kids.

In 2018, they acquired the extremely seclusion property surrounded by substantial gates.

Since his recovery, Trevor has spent a lot of time working abroad.

He is rumoured to have made a fortune as the director of security for Houston, Texas-based Halliburton, a huge oil services company that played a significant role in the Iraq war.

Five years after moving back to his native Shropshire, he was hired by AstraZeneca, the multinational pharmaceutical company that developed one of the Covid-19 vaccines, to serve as head of security.

He waited in the car while his family and dog entered the store on his excursion to the grocery store.
