Nicola Bulley’s family and friends have been devastated by her disappearance.
The family hired underwater specialist Peter Faulding to explore the river nearby where Bulley’s phone was discovered. But who is he and what do we know about him?
Who is Peter Faulding?
Specialist Group International (SGI), founded by Peter Faulding, has been looking for missing mother Nicola Bulley in the River Wyre.
On February 8, 2023, Faulding and his crew made the decision to call it quits on their quest for her since they felt they had exhausted all possibilities.
He made a free offer to her bereaved family and used technology worth £55,000 to scan the lake.
His crew looked everywhere in and around the vicinity of the park bench where her items were discovered.
Insisting that she had fallen into the river while walking her dog, Faulding has disputed with the theory Lancashire police claimed they were using.
He said: “After 25 years of doing this kind of work, after hundreds of cases, I am well and truly baffled.
“When people drown they generally go down where they are.
“We normally find them within five to ten metres of where they went down even after a few days.
“This is the most baffling case that I have ever worked on.
“The police have nothing to go on.
“All they have is a mobile phone at the moment and they said it could possibly be a decoy.”
Additionally, he has stated that it is “unlikely” that they would discover her in the river and that it is impossible for her to have drifted out to sea.
Spaulding declared the end of the search and expressed his “gladness” at not having discovered Bulley in the river.
