The bodyguard for PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle has been identified as a former Met police officer who choked his wife till she passed out.
Pere Daobry, a 12-year Met Police veteran, was found guilty of assaulting Sarah Jay, an ex-police sergeant partner.
He was seen with Meghan and Harry earlier this month when they travelled from Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage to London’s Euston.
On September 5, the pair was observed climbing into a waiting Range Rover while the huge 6ft 7in security stood by.
Then, while Harry and Meghan were being driven to the station before a speech in Manchester, he sat next to another security in the front seat of the vehicle.
It’s unclear whether the Sussexes, who are embroiled in a dispute with the government over their security, paid for Daobry’s services or if they were made aware of his dreadful record.
However, given that Meghan is a fervent advocate for women’s rights, his appointment is certain to stir much debate.
She frequently talks about domestic violence, and last year, the couple’s Archewell foundation gave money to a nonprofit that fights against it.
The Mail Online was told by a source: “It’s pretty amazing that a bodyguard with that kind of expertise has been hired, especially given how vocal Meghan is about women’s concerns.
“When Sarah, his wife, went through a very trying time with him, I’m sure Meghan and Harry wouldn’t feel at all comfortable hiring him as their bodyguard if they were fully aware of the circumstances.
