82-year-old PELE passed away in Sao Paulo.
Mother Celeste still resides with the legendary Brazilian football player.
Pele’s mother, who is still alive now at the age of 100, has always been a pillar of strength for her extraordinarily talented son.
Before he is buried, his coffin will pass by Celeste’s house.
Who is Pele’s mum?
Celeste Arantes, the mother of Pele, turned 100 last month.
The three-time World Cup champion wrote his mother a heartfelt happy birthday greeting on social media before passing away.
Accompanied by three pictures of them together, he wrote on Instagram: “Today, we celebrate 100 years of Dona Celeste’s life.
“From a young age, she taught me the value of love and peace.
“I have well over a hundred reasons to be thankful for being her son.
“I share these photos with you, with great emotion to celebrate this day. Thank you for every day by your side, Mom.”
Celeste moved to Bauru, a population of approximately 400,000 people, when Pele was a little child from the Brazilian hamlet of Tres Coracoes where she was born in 1922.
She was named Brazilian Mother of the Year by O Globo and garnered praise from the entire country for her bond with her kid.
Prior to his team travelling to England for the 1966 World Cup, Celeste paid Pele a visit at a training camp in Teresopolis, close to Rio de Janeiro.
Her son enjoyed success as a footballer between 1956 and 1974, and she has spent her later years living in the Santos neighbourhood of Sao Paulo.
Zoca and Maria Lucia Nascimento, Pele’s siblings, are Celeste’s other two kids.
