INMATE Charles Bronson is one of the most infamous figures in British prisons.
He married Irene Dunroe in the 1970s, shortly after she discovered she was pregnant with his son, Michael Jonathan Peterson.
Who is Michael Jonathan Peterson?
Michael Jonathan Peterson is the only known son of Charles Bronson, the UK’s most violent prisoner.
He was named after his father, Michael Peterson at the time.
His parents, Bronson and Irene Dunroe, married in 1972, the same year he was born.
Bronson was working as an industrial painter at the time.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Irene’s second husband, Brian, “treated Michael as his own” in 2001.
Michael has never publicly discussed his father.
Bronson’s first wife was Irene.
The couple met when they were both 19 years old.
Irene, unlike the lag’s second and third wives, was with the offender when he used his birth name of Michael Peterson.
Irene still refers to her ex-husband as “Mick,” and she has stated that she will never know him as anything else.
Their relationship was undoubtedly harmed when Bronson was sentenced to seven years in prison in 1974.
She visited him for two years while he served his sentence for armed robbery.
Despite this, the pair divorced in 1977.
She spoke about her relationship with Bronson to the Sunday Mirror in 2001.
She said: “He stopped me wearing make-up, beads, anything that would beautify me.
“I remember buying a halter-neck dress. When Charlie saw it he cut it into tiny pieces.
“I was 20 but he wanted me to dress like a middle-aged woman.
“When we went out, if another man so much as looked at me he took me home immediately.”
Bronson has only one child, Michael.
In 2018, George Bamby appeared on This Morning, claiming to be the notorious criminal’s son and revealing that a DNA test revealed a 99.8 percent match.
Friends and supporters of Bronson, however, have called Bamby a “fraud,” according to The Mirror.
According to Rod Harrison, Charles Bronson’s best man when he married Paula Williamson, and the person who runs his Facebook group, the prisoner only has one child, Michael Jonathan Peterson.
He said: “Charlie’s comments on Bamby. So end of – Charlie says too many lies.
“As far as Charlie is concerned he’s gone he’s a liar, end of.”
We don’t know much about Michael Jonathan Peterson’s whereabouts.
He keeps his private life private and has never spoken to the media.
The Sunday Mirror reported in 2001 that he was working as a chef.
