As the new host has officially been revealed, the upcoming season of Love Island is poised for a significant shake-up.
It has been announced that Maya Jama will take over hosting duties in early 2023, replacing Laura Whitmore, after months of rumours.
After Caroline Flack’s passing in 2020, Laure assumed the position of host, which she first did in August of that same year.
“I’ve always been such a major Love Island fan and I’m so happy to be presenting one of the nation’s favourite series,” Maya said in a statement announcing the development. To meet all the Islanders, I can’t wait to enter the Villa.
Paul Mortimer, ITV’s director of reality programming and acquisitions, continued, “It was never going to be simple to find a new host to replace the lovely Laura Whitmore.
“In Maya Jama though, we have another high-profile fan of the show who’ll be a great addition to the Love Island family.”
