In a recent photo, Mattea, 24, stood with substantially shorter hair, stylish hanging earrings, and a full suit and tie.
Holding up the book “Ducks” for an event, they captioned the Instagram photo, “Notice the difference.”
The second picture featured a picture of the independent girl group BoyGenius wearing similar outfits.
Viewers enjoyed seeing the massive Jeopardy show’s more daring side! who has appeared to stop wearing the cardigans after their initial run of 23 games and $560K in May.
“This is everything” one user commented.
“Sensational suit,” wrote another.
“Suit and tie look AMAZING on you” gushed a third.
Following their run, Mattea has started presenting a well-known podcast in Canada and now addresses people as they/them.
When the Gen-Z tutor from Canada who won the 10-plus day competition in Season 38, they were only 23 years old.
In April 2022, Mattea won their first game and said, “All my student loans are paid off!” This set the stage for an unusual yet enthralling run.
As they publicly stated their wagering plan and engaged in conversation in between hints, many criticised their stage presence.
One particularly notable incident saw Mattea winning a Daily Double and saying, with his trademark wrist flip, “I should have bet more.”
Yet as the victories increased, so did the popularity, and there were a few games that would live in infamy during their tenure.
Due to a technicality, one witnessed the winner answer Final Jeopardy on stage by themselves with only Ken.
The other two didn’t even play because they had negative scores when they entered Final Jeopardy.
“Has that ever happened before?” one fan wondered on Twitter at the time.
Mattea won by the same margin he lost by in a different game: $1.
By that time, Mattea had earned the sixth-highest earnings and the fifth-longest streak on Jeopardy! ever.
The buzz of the show was frequently Mattea’s stories from the on-stage Q&A sessions.
They disclosed that they had performed background vocals in a music video alongside the renowned performer of “Rick Roll” fame Rick Astley.
During another Q&A, they also revealed to have seven tattoos including two on their legs dedicated to the band The Talking Heads.
Mattea returned for the 2022 Tournament of Champions and is about to come back yet again for a third stint.
The new Jeopardy! Masters spinoff, which is slated to broadcast during the spring in primetime on ABC, will be hosted by 48-year-old Ken Jennings.
There will be 20 games in the 10 hour-long episodes of the six-champ special.
