Following Lynette Romero’s 24-year tenure with the news organisation, KTLA has come under fire for her unexpected resignation.
Mark Mester, the host of the Weekend Morning News, lost his job on September 22, 2022, after he took it upon himself to apologise to the audience for KTLA’s “rude” send-off.
Who is Mark Mester?
Reporter Mark Mester was born on December 27, 1986, in Budapest, Hungary.
He began working for the station in May 2014 as an anchor for the KTLA 5 Weekend Morning News.
Mester has more than 78k followers on Instagram, where he frequently shares photos of himself with his coworkers on the KTLA set.
It’s unclear whether the 36-year-old is dating anyone right now because he likes to keep his personal life quiet.
On the other hand, Mester appears to truly enjoy surfing based on his social media accounts.
Why did Mester get fired?
Following his criticism of the station’s treatment of his co-anchor Lynette Romero’s abrupt departure, Mester was sacked by KTLA-TV Channel 5 on September 22, 2022, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Days after Deadline revealed the news anchor’s termination from the station, the news broke.
Sam Rubin, an entertainment expert, commented on Romero’s departure without saying goodbye to the audience during a broadcast on September 14:
Our buddy Lynette Romero, who has been the anchor of our weekend morning news for for 24 years, has decided to retire, according to Rubin.
