Fans on social media are tearing up over ANOTHER LSU star.
KJ Johnson’s online fame is growing, following in the footsteps of Olivia Dunne, 20, a fellow gymnastics teammate.
The sophomore Tiger from Dallas, Texas, was a revelation when she arrived at Baton Rouge in 2022.
Johnson was honoured for her first appearance in the renowned purple and gold by being selected the gymnast of the week in addition to being named a freshman All-SEC member and to the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Her second year in Louisiana hasn’t gone as planned, sadly, as she just shattered her metatarsal while having fun at a competition.
Johnson might be out for four to six weeks as a result, according to The Advocate.
Despite the setback in her gymnastics career, she has continued to gain popularity online because of her devoted followers.
Johnson, who has just over 65k followers on TikTok and an additional 30k on Instagram, has been dubbed “perfection embodied” by one user of the app and the “it lady” by teammate Elena Arenas.
She frequently publishes lifestyle pieces, lipsyncing videos, and glamour updates across the two sites.
Recently, she collaborated with Dunne on Instagram and used the hashtag “double the mischief [evil emoji]” when posting pictures of the two wearing LSU leotards.
One fan said “This might be the best post on Instagram today”
Another commented that they “just fell on my knees in a Walmart”
While one simply replied: “I love you?”
Since the summer of 2021, the NCAA has allowed athletes to make money off name, image, and likeness deals, and Johnson has benefited from this just like Dunne has.
Johnson’s NIL valuation or net worth is unknown, but she has posted sponsored ads for Swigg and Outback Restaurant.
Dunne famously became a millionaire aged just 18 thanks to her various sponsorships, and currently has an estimated annual income of $3.4million, per On3.
