Who is Julia Wandelt?
Julia Wandelt, a 21-year-old Polish woman, claims to be Madeleine McCann.
Wandelt has gone viral after claiming to be the missing child who went missing in 2007.
She has also stated her intention to contact Kate and Gerry McCann, as she does not remember much of her childhood and claims to have no recollection of it.
She has made her claims on TikTok, using the handle @iammadeleinemccann.
She claims that the family of the missing girl has asked her to take a DNA test.
Wandelt has said that she has moles in the same places as Madeleine and that she has a marking in her eye similar to Maddie’s coloboma, which means her pupil is a different shape.
McCann was born in May 2003, making her 19 years old, and Wandelt believes her own age of 21 is incorrect.
“The family are taking no chances, they are willing to look at all leads,” a source close to the McCanns told The Mirror. It is critical that they consider all of the variables. The girl does resemble her.
“If what she says is true, there is every chance it could be her. It all adds up.”
Maddie vanished in May 2007 from an apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
She was kidnapped in the middle of the night from her bed in a room she shared with her twin brother and sister, who were sleeping in travel cots.
She was sleeping in a vacation apartment while her parents ate at a nearby restaurant.
Her siblings were left in the room and appeared to have fallen asleep during the kidnapping.
