Rick Bowness, the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, has been married to Judy Bowness for a number of years.

What happened to Judy Bowness?
The team revealed in a statement that Judy had a seizure before the decision was made.
Following her hospitalization, Judy is “undergoing further testing,” according to the team.
“Sunday evening, Judy Borness, wife of Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness suffered a seizure and is currently in [the] hospital undergoing further testing,” the statement read.
“As a result, Rick is taking a leave of absence from the hockey club.”
At this time, it is not known when Rick will return to the bench, but the team did say that associate coach Scott Arniel will be serving as the interim head coach.
“We ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy at this time,” the statement added.
Since July 2022, Rick has served as the Jets’ head coach. Following spells with the Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New York Islanders, he took over as interim coach from Dave Lowry.
The team finished 46-33-3 in his debut season, however they were defeated by the Golden Knights, the eventual Stanley Cup winners, in the opening round of the playoffs.
