According to authorities and law enforcement sources, a senior analyst for Goldman Sachs went missing early on Saturday morning after attending a concert at The Brooklyn Mirage.
John Castic, who is he?
The 27-year-old John Castic disappeared after leaving the well-known Williamsburg hangout at around three in the morning following a performance by the electronic band Zeds Dead, according to the NYPD and his “best friend,” Sara Kostecka.
Kostecka revealed details about Castic’s kidnapping in a Facebook post on Monday and claimed the two were supposed to attend her brother’s upcoming wedding.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, and Kostecka asked that anyone in New York City who may have seen him be informed of the situation.
She added, “Reminder to stay safe and check in on your friends. I’ve heard rumors from people about being asked to hop in a taxi/cab from some creepy people near the Mirage. We just need to find John because I’m supposed to walk with him in my brother’s wedding the following week.”
Castic, a resident of Lower Manhattan, is listed as being 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, according to the police.
After graduating from DePaul University, the native of Illinois began working for Goldman Sachs in August.
His last known location, according to the authorities, was close to 1133 Grand Street, which is about half a mile from the music hall.
He was last seen with khaki pants and a floral blouse in white and navy blue, according to a missing person flyer.
According to a different acquaintance, Castic’s phone died after he left the theater and hasn’t been powered on since.
With a seating capacity of 6,000, the Brooklyn Mirage is one of three concert venues housed at the Avant Gardner. Castic is the second person to disappear in the last few weeks after going to one of these places.
According to a friend’s Facebook post, when the other man, Karl Clemente, 27, went to a concert with friends on June 11, electronic music journal EDM Identity reported that “he allegedly drank alcohol” and was kicked out of the venue.
