Joe Tippett, an American actor from Damascus, Maryland, was born on March 1, 1982. Joe debuted on Broadway in the Tony Award-nominated play Airline Highway in 2015.
He received more acclaim in 2017 for his performance in Waitress as Earl Hunterson.
He has appeared in repeat episodes of the TV shows Mare of Easttown, Alaska Daily, The Blacklist, and The Morning Show.
Joe and Sara Bareilles, his longtime love, made their engagement public on January 1, 2023.
It wasn’t a surprise at all because “we had been talking about it for quite some time,” Joe told People.
But she was having a bad day and we were in Mexico City. We managed to connect a little bit and restart things.
“We searched for the ideal ring but were unsuccessful. I just want to do it, I thought.
So we were like, “That’s the thing for now!” after discovering this inexpensive little ring in a market that we both adore.
It was like, “OK, now!” he continued, “We were up on a roof at sunset, the sky was on fire, and we were listening to music and slow dancing.”
What led Sara to Joe?
Sara and Joe first met at the Waitress out-of-town auditions in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in August 2015.
Waitress, who won a Grammy for her work on the film’s score, was acting as one of the main characters at the time.
The two later rose to fame as co-stars in the musical’s Broadway revival in 2021.
Sara said to the aforementioned publication about that encounter: “I always say this, my life falls into two categories – before Waitress and after Waitress.
“And everything after Waitress is without a doubt, without a doubt, better.”
“It seems like all roads lead back to Waitress,” Joe remarked. “I had the most amazing opportunity to perform with her.”
“Like, what a special opportunity to be on Broadway with your partner,” someone said.
