Joanna Dennehy, Britain’s ”most dangerous female prisoner,” was sentenced to life in jail for murdering three men.
Dennehy’s misdeeds and current location are discussed in this section.
Who is Joanna Dennehy?
Dennehy’s three male victims were discovered in ditches near Peterborough with stab wounds.
Lukasz Slaboszewski, a 31-year-old Polish national, was her first victim.
Dennehy stabbed to death John Chapman, a 56-year-old Falkland veteran, the next week.
Later that day, she murdered Kevin Lee, her landlord and lover.
She then stabbed two more males at random and fled, leaving them battling for their life.
Dennehy, dubbed “pure evil” by criminology experts, claimed she committed the murders because it was “moreish and fun.”
During her murdering spree, she specifically targeted men and stated that she did not want to kill a woman, especially a mother with children.
Joanna Dennehy is from the Hertfordshire town of St Albans.
Dennehy was raised in a stable, loving environment in a rural location, where her mother Kathy worked as a store assistant and her father Kevin worked in security – but she left home at the age of 16 and never returned.
She was caught in 2013 after a ten-day murdering spree that left three men dead and two others fighting for their lives.
She was eventually diagnosed with “psychopathic, anti-social, and emotional instability disorders” by psychiatrists.
What has her mother said about her crimes?
In 2017, Joanna Dennehy’s mother spoke out about her daughter’s crimes.
Kathleen stated about Joanna in a show that aired on the Crime + Investigation channel: ”The girl who killed those individuals is not my daughter. My daughter is that lovely 16-year-old who never returned home.”
Kathleen went on to say that Joanna, who excelled in school and enjoyed netball and hockey, was a sensitive and kind youngster as she grew older.
She said: ”She was very sensitive. If she stood on a worm or something she would be really upset if it died – she used to take them to bed with her. So she was a loving girl.
”She was polite to everybody. Teachers always said that she was a nice girl.”
Speaking of the chilling moment she learned of her daughter’s crimes, Kathleen said: ”When I saw this footage of Jo it was like somebody I didn’t know. She’s standing there being charged, smiling and laughing, that’s not the kind, loving Jo that was our baby.”
She added: ”To me she doesn’t exist any more. I don’t ever want her to come out of jail. The world’s safer without Joanna in it.”
Where is Joanna Dennehy now?
Dennehy was sentenced to life in prison in 2014, with the recommendation that she never be released.
According to accounts, she is still being held at HMP Low Newton, near Durham, a high security prison for Britain’s female killers where Rose West was once imprisoned.
