Jeff Cohen, a former child star, hasn’t left the entertainment industry too far behind.
The native of California is currently an agent for some of the greatest stars in Hollywood.
Who is Jeff Cohen?
On June 25, 1974, Jeffrey Bertan Cohen was born in Los Angeles, California.
The Goonies, a 1985 Steven Spielberg movie, featured the former child actor as Chunk, who is best known for that role.
Since then, Cohen has admitted to the Daily Mail in 2015 that his inability to audition for “fat kid roles” caused him to leave Hollywood.
There were essentially four overweight kids in the area, so the same folks frequently appeared at auditions for fat kid roles, he told the site.
“It was survival of the fattest. But when I hit puberty, it was a career ender for me. I was transforming from Chunk to hunk and I couldn’t get roles any more.”
Cohen continued: “It was terrible. My first love was acting but puberty had other ideas. It was a forced retirement. I didn’t give up acting. Acting gave me up.”
At 48 years old, the man is a lawyer and a founding partner of Cohen Gardner LLP.
Cohen graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BS in commerce before attending the UCLA School of Law to study law.
Since leaving the acting industry, Cohen has pursued a career in law and established himself as a prominent entertainment lawyer with a Beverly Hills office.
According to the bio found on his firm’s website: “Jeff co-founded Cohen Gardner LLP in 2002 and focuses on transactional representation for clients in the entertainment, media and technology verticals.
“He has been named by Variety to both its Dealmakers Impact List and Legal Impact List. He has been profiled by The Hollywood Reporter, The ABA Journal, Chambers Associate, Law Crossing and others.”
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the author and working writer has an estimated net worth of $4 million.
